WHO ARE WE?

In the Bicol language, "ranga" means comfort, solace, or relief, and we are here to provide just that. Ranga Psychosocial Services is a mental health clinic which provides services that cater to the mental health needs of people within and even outside the Bicol Region. Our goal is to empower people and communities by helping them triumph over their mental health goals to live healthier and more productive lives. We aim to do this by providing our clients competent and ethical care through qualified and well-trained mental health professionals, and by using tools that are aligned with the current standards of our profession.

A bit about PSYCHOTHERAPY and ASSESSMENT

According to the World Health Organization, “There is no health without mental health.”. We all have mental health. Not everyone may experience mental health disorders, but everyone experiences difficulties with their mental health from time to time. When things in life become too difficult and overwhelming, know that there are mental health professionals who are right here to help you out.

According to the American Psychological Association, “Psychologists help people of all ages live happier, healthier and more productive lives.” Through the use of various psychotherapy methods and collaborative treatment measures, we help our clients develop life-changing habits that help them cope with any of life’s various obstacles. Psychotherapy is not the same as a visit to a medical doctor. It calls for an active involvement on the part of the client. Psychotherapy is effective in helping individuals with their problems, aspects of which are related to disorders in thinking, emotional suffering, or problems of behavior. This is done through a therapeutic relationship between the client and the psychologist during the course of the therapy.

Aside from psychotherapy, psychologists also conduct psychological assessment. It is a process of acquiring information about a person. Generally, the kind of information to be acquired depends largely on the reason why assessment is needed. The most common reasons for conducting assessment include the diagnosis of a disorder, describing different aspects of a person like intelligence and personality, determining if a person is psychologically fit for work, identifying areas of a person needing attention, among others. Such information will be used to answer a referral question, to solve a problem, or to make decisions for evaluation. Such information will be acquired through a series of interviews and psychological tests.

Among other mental health services, Ranga Psychosocial Services is here for your psychotherapy and assessment needs.
